Seeing the Dark Side of the Moon

Tonight I saw the new moon's dark eye,
As it tried to hide in the starless sky,
A shade off the rest, but just so close,
The sad moon and I, the loner and ghost.

And the good years quickly come to an end,
As I walk the streets without just a friend.
I'm a part of neither the sun or the moon,
But rather the shadow cast at high noon.

So I make a friend out of the sky above,
Consistently there so that I may love.
And while it changes, and comes and goes,
I'll find it above in my highs and my lows.
